Another challenge for me to get excited about! I think it’s fairly obvious to anyone who has ever glanced at this blog that I love dotticures. And I had the perfect idea in mind this time. A while back I saw a mani on the SIMPLES Facebook page that used a matte top coat to make dots, and I wanted to do that. I also recently bought my first full-size, non-topper bottle of OPI (crazy that I didn’t have any), and have been dying to use it.
Oh my God, this is gorgeous. I am completely in love with this mani. I cannot believe that an orderly dotticure came out looking this dang good! I also had fewer mess-ups than normal, and moved much more quickly in my dots placement than I usually do. Maybe practice really does make perfect! Or almost perfect anyway.
The colors I used are Kleancolor Black and OPI Miami Beet, and the matte coat I chose for dotting is Essie Matte About You. I have to say, I am very happy with my first real OPI purchase. Miami Beet is everything I expected from the swatches I’ve seen! An absolutely beautiful polish, and so easy to apply! I will definitely have to get more OPI polishes eventually.
The next challenge on the list is ombre. I hate ombre. It can be such a pain.
