OMD2 challenge-Outdoors

And this might be my very last OMD2 challenge post.  There are only about four hours left to post, and I don’t know if I want to rush out any more manis.  This is a fun one to end on though.  I thought going into it that it would be awful, but I actually like what I came up with.  It was inspired by my experience in going outside yesterday to feed my horse.  I looked to the right, beautiful blue sky.  I looked to the left, terrifyingly dark storm clouds blanketing the sky.  And then a lightning flash.  Typical Florida summer weather.

Originally I was just going to sponge on some grays to represent the dark clouds and call it a day.  But then I sponged a little white too, to sort of look like lightning flashing behind the clouds…and then I decided, what the heck?  I’ll add a bolt of lightning too.

Zoya Carey, Kleancolor Concrete Gray, and FingerPaints Paper Mache were my colors of choice here.  I was very much happy with how my stormy skies turned out.  They look like a giant jumble of (somewhat speckled) dark clouds, and my lightning is pretty good too.  Who knew that I could be so happy about stormy weather?

But I also felt that the index and pinky were lacking in awesome.  I was just about the start sponging on them too when I remembered the dewdrops from the 3D challenge!  Those would work well as raindrops, right?

Well that was a good call!  The raindrops look pretty dang cool with the storm clouds.  There are some bubbles in the top coat I used that kind of diminish the watery effect of the drops, but I still really like how this nail art looks overall.

It is very unlikely that I will make another OMD2 post, but on the off chance that I do…it will be nautical nails.  If I don’t get around to it, then I am very pleased to be ending with a good mani like this!
