Challenge Your Nail Art Fall-ing for Nail Art theme, Day 1-Fall leaves and trees

Finally November’s Challenge Your Nail Art challenge is here!  I don’t particularly like doing fall nail art, but CYNA generally gets my creative juices flowing and makes the experience enjoyable.  I’ve been so reluctant to do nail art lately that I was really looking forward to this challenge to provide inspiration and motivation to do something fun and interesting.

Well, today’s nail art may not be entirely unique, but it’s something that I haven’t tried.  At least not like this.  (I say that a lot, don’t I?)

My last post was my cherry blossom nails, and I took that idea and carried it over here for my fall tree.  And then I added some leaves on my other nails, which is something I’ve never really done (because I know I am incapable of producing leaves that actually look like leaves on paper).

Anyway, my base colors were Barry M Paprika and Essie Limo-scene.  My leaves were made with Kleancolor Tangerine Burst, Revlon Parfumerie Sunlit Grass, Zoya Louise, Kleancolor Red.  The tree trunk was OPI A-Piers to be Tan.  That started out as a failed attempt at stamping, by the way.  It didn’t transfer well and was extremely crooked, so I painted over it. Stamps hate me. 😛

The tree didn’t turn out quite like I wanted, but I like it and would still say that I’m starting the challenge off with some nice nail art.  I am especially proud of the yellow leaf on my index finger and the orange one on my pinky.  My inability to draw leaves seems to have been somewhat negated by the addition of nail polish. 🙂

Tomorrow is going to be a real challenge though.  Fall food.  I have lofty ambitions, so we’ll see how that goes!
