Well, I’m late with this one (in my current time zone at least). But I knew even before the challenge started that there would be a massive pileup of stuff today, so I am not surprised or disappointed by being a few hours past the deadline. And I think finishing some writing to turn into my supervisor and helping to host a pub quiz are perfectly good excuses. 😉
Knowing ahead of time that I was going to be late meant that I wanted to do something very simple today, but still have a bit of a unique interpretation of the day’s prompt. So in true central Floridian style, I chose to use Jeff Foxworthy’s Redneck 12 Days of Christmas. After quite a bit of debate with myself, I chose day 3’s gift: 3 shotgun shells.
I used ALIQUID Lacquer Petoskey Stone as my background color, with Kleancolor Red and Pure Ice Jaguar for the shells and my poor unnamed green for the letters. (I really wish I knew the name and brand of that green. For being a cheap little thing from Walmart, it sure is pretty and easy to work with.)
Uh, wow, I am so glad I went simple today. Not only was this this fastest nail art I’ve done in a while, it actually looks pretty good. I wish the gold would have leveled out a bit more, but it honestly doesn’t bother me that much. There’s so little going on here that there’s not really anything I can nitpick about. So thank you, Jeff Foxworthy, for giving me something simple to paint on my nails. 😛
